Family nutritionist Daria Tyagniy described in a comment for “SE”how parents should act in order to correctly compose a complete diet for the child.
“The first thing to start with is observation and analysis – just take a notebook and write down what your child eats for at least a week,” Tyagniy explained.
Based on the observations received, it will already be possible to move on to the next stage: to find out if there are enough proteins, healthy fats, and fiber in the child’s diet. Along the way, it is necessary to pay attention to what kind of reaction and well-being cause certain products. And already on the basis of the analysis carried out, it will already be possible to draw up a competent diet.
From it, the expert recommends removing excess sugar and other simple carbohydrates, as well as refined, oxidized oils and, of course, individual intolerance products (milk protein, gluten, sugar, etc.).
“The basis of the diet should be essential macronutrients. In each meal, we focus on complete animal protein or a combination of vegetable proteins (3-4 g per 1 kg of body weight), saturated and unsaturated fats (1-2 g per 1 kg of body weight) and fiber,” the nutritionist advises.
And when these requirements are taken into account, you can deal with carbohydrates: “half of the plate” should be fiber, a quarter – complex carbohydrates, and the remaining quarter – proteins.
