The State Duma will supplement the law on the burial of SVO participants

A bill clarifying the burial procedure for SVO participants was introduced to the State Duma
The State Assembly – Kurultai of Bashkiria has submitted a bill to the State Duma of the Russian Federation proposing changes to the burial procedure for participants in the special operation in Ukraine.
The authors of the project note in the explanatory note that “traditionally, when burying military personnel <...> conscripts are delivered to burial places,” they also propose to allow the participation of “representatives not only of the Ministry of Defense, but also of public authorities.” The authors list such departments as the Russian Guard, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Penitentiary Service. In addition to them, legislators propose to allow participation in funerals for representatives of public organizations and NGOs.
The authors explain that the measure is necessary, among other things, due to the remoteness of the areas where some of the dead military personnel live, as well as due to the employment of military commissariat employees. They add that it is often
employees of internal affairs bodies and other government officials provide a guard of honor and escort.
