Zelensky’s office called for speeding up the adoption of the mobilization bill

Changes to Ukrainian legislation regarding mobilization into the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) must be adopted as soon as possible. This statement was made on Tuesday, January 9, by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak.

According to the official, we are talking about “an absolutely optimal option – not an ideal, but an optimal law,” taking into account all the comments made during its discussion.

Podolyak called for “speeding up the discussion procedure and reaching certain decisions.”

Earlier, the commander of the reconnaissance platoon of the 28th Mechanized Infantry Brigade of the Ukrainian Army said that the majority of Ukrainians do not want to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and if you staff the troops only with motivated conscripts, you will be able to recruit no more than 20% of the request of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for personnel. He explained this by saying that “we were not brought up in patriotism; this mood is not present among the masses.”

Against this background, a resident of the Kyiv region said that employees of military commissariats intensified work in villages of Ukraine. According to the woman, on January 2, about 70 people liable for military service were taken away from her village, some were taken away in the dark.
