First Deputy Head of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs Konstantin Zatulin called for stopping the manifestation of xenophobia and hatred towards Tajiks in Russia after the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, which occurred on March 22 in the Moscow region. He expressed this opinion in a conversation with “Lentoy.ru”.
He emphasized that there are people in the country, including in the political field, who are “inflating Islamophobia, Tajik phobia,” trying to present the situation that supposedly all Tajiks in the world are “enemies of Russia and potential terrorists.”
In addition, Zatulin added that it is necessary to work with the population in this direction and explain that “it is easy to raise a wave of xenophobia, but it is very difficult to cope with it.”
