Deputy Chief of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the Russian General Staff Vladimir Tsimlyansky said that conscripts who will be sent to the army during the spring conscription will not be sent to new regions or combat zones. He recalled that the start of the conscription is scheduled for April 1, and the first shipments from collection points are scheduled for April 15.

“Servicemen undergoing military service on conscription will not be sent to the points of deployment of armed forces units in new regions of Russia (these are the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions) or to participate there in carrying out the tasks of a special military operation,” quotes Mr. Tsimlyansky as saying press service Ministry of Defense.

He added that a third of the conscripts will be sent to training formations and military units, where in five months they will master a military specialty. Upon completion of training, they will be sent to the troops.

Military personnel whose service life is ending will be dismissed in a timely manner, Vladimir Tsimlyansky said. He also said that 130 thousand people were recruited during the autumn conscription.

In 2024, an increase in the upper limit of the conscription age to 30 years came into force. The lower one remained at 18 years. Also in December 2023 was signed a law providing for military service upon conscription in the Border Service of the FSB.
