The State Duma proposed to mitigate the punishment for the temporary lack of documents for a car

Yaroslav Nilov, Chairman of the Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, announced on his telegram channel about a bill sent to the government that would lift the toughest sanctions for leaving car documents at home.
“If the documents for the vehicle were left at home or somewhere else, this does not affect traffic safety in any way. This means that the car should not be detained,” the deputy wrote, noting that the proposed relief is not supposed to apply to cases where the car is listed as stolen, or there are no documents for it at all (anywhere), “or there are no papers required by the legislation of the Customs Union.”
According to the deputy representing the Liberal Democratic Party, the authors of the project are waiting for the government’s response to the initiative. Nilov does not say anything about how relevant departments, for example, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and other Duma factions treat it.
