The State Duma proposed purchasing part of the missing length of service for retirement – Kommersant

Russians can purchase additional pension points if they lack one or two years of pensionable service. Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, spoke about this in an interview “Gazeta.Ru”.

“Is it possible to purchase additional pension points? Yes, you can, but not all of them. You cannot buy pension points in full. You can buy more, if one or two years of experience are missing, well, no more than half, then you can buy more,” said the deputy. At the same time, according to her, the price of pension points changes annually: in 2023, you could buy no more than 8.12 pension points for 340 thousand rubles.

According to Svetlana Bessarab, we are talking about a fairly large amount for a one-time contribution. She explained that if necessary, relatives can help buy additional points. To purchase the missing points, just submit an application.

From 2024, 28.2 points and 15 years of experience are required to receive a pension. From 2026, the bar will increase to 30 points and 15 years of experience. In the absence of rights to an insurance pension, a citizen can count on a social one. The right to it appears five years after the old-age pension is assigned.
