Another initiative to improve the level of remuneration for teachers was announced in the State Duma – to index payments under the Zemsky Teacher project, raising the maximum one-time payment to project participants from 1 million to 2 million rubles for those who go to teach in the northern regions. But it turned out that this is not the main problem – after all, 88% of Russian teachers receive salaries below the expected minimum wage of 19 thousand rubles.

No, Karamzin was wrong when he blurted out that the cause of all Russian troubles is fools and roads. Worse than the harm from alternatively gifted citizens and the slowness of utility workers are teachers’ salaries. Or rather, their absence, one cannot seriously consider a salary of 3,420 rubles as money. Such a historical minimum salary was recorded in the North Caucasus.

We talked many times about how we could organize teaching, that’s all. They called for all teachers to be given 75 thousand – give, take and divide everything. They also give different benefits, for travel, for firewood, two percent on the mortgage. Show honor and respect in an ornate way, as in the East: the year of the teacher and mentor is just around the corner. In general, anything for the heirs of Makerenko, Ushinsky and Sukhomlinsky. In addition to a real piece of the pie from the federal-regional budget. Or a working payment mechanism.

And here is a new proposal – to increase the size of the Zemstvo Teacher award. The first deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Education, Yana Lantratova, spoke with him. It’s logical: the “zemsky” project started in 2020. And since then, a lot has happened, in particular, according to the deputy, since the beginning of the program, everything has risen in price by 32%.

The “Zemstvo Teacher” project, with an antique twist, was invented in order to attract young people to rural schools. Zemstvos were introduced into Russia by Tsar-Liberator Alexander II. A teacher then, in the old blessed times, received a salary of 20-30 rubles. At the same time, a pound of butter cost the teacher “on the ground” 60 kopecks, a dozen eggs – six. The skin of a killed bear cost two rubles, cheap vodka cost 6 kopecks per liter, and expensive vodka cost 30 kopecks.

So, the parliamentarian sent a letter with a request to increase the amount of payments for Zemstvo residents to Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova. With a petition to consider “the possibility of annual indexation of the amount of compensation payments for participants in the Zemstvo Teacher program from 2024.” And he requests permission to increase the amount of payment from 1 to 2 million rubles for MS (young employees) who went to schools in the North. Gas and other oil workers have “northern” ones, teachers should have them… The letter specifies exactly which north one can go to for millions. To the Nenets and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Arctic zones of the Arkhangelsk and Murmansk regions, Karelia, Komi.

The existential clinch, which included the formation of teacher pay, has become one of the world’s problems and mysteries. There are similar problems here and there on a national scale, such as finding a free piece of land in Japan or keeping the Leaning Tower of Pisa from falling completely.

It is not clear how one can live on this money. The real size of teachers’ salaries is unclear.

Recently, the teachers’ union published an interesting study on this matter. It claims that the level of remuneration for teachers does not reach 19 thousand rubles (the planned minimum wage for this year) in 88% of Russia.

More precisely, the calculations were as follows: in 40% of the regions, teachers’ salaries do not reach half the minimum wage, that is, they hang around 8-9 thousand rubles. Almost the same number of teachers (39%) in the regions receive 10-15 thousand rubles. In 9% of Russian territories, such as the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Primorye, Magadan Region, school teachers earn 15-20 thousand rubles per month.

But nothing of the kind, say third-party statistics. The recruiting site claims that the average teacher salary is 42,700 rubles. Rosstat reports that on average teachers in the Russian Federation earn 63 thousand “by the nose.” Recently, the average salary in Moscow was calculated in a similar way: 120-140 thousand rubles. This is the discrepancy between paper and natural. This is, you know, a squiggle.

So our teachers are entirely survivalists, Stoic ascetics who specialize in mortification of the flesh. And in schools the staff consists of 70-year-old Maryivannas, who, after retirement, have nowhere to go except school…

And only ordinary Russian citizens are so simple that they are potentially generous to the teacher. Based on the erroneous principle that children are the future of the country, therefore it is necessary to raise this very future with dignity. In particular, financially reward schools and the hard work of teachers.

According to a poll conducted by another portal, people named 95 thousand rubles as a decent salary for a teacher. And 23% of our compatriots generously paid each teacher “Moscow” 100-150 thousand rubles. Such an amount would be a blessing to God. Or Golikova in a letter and Mishustin in the budget.
