The State Duma proposed introducing criminal liability for those who help draft dodgers to avoid military service, RT reports.

The corresponding appeal was sent to First Deputy Prime Minister Andrey Belousov, the author of the initiative is Deputy Ivan Sukharev.

As noted, at present, the criminal legislation of the Russian Federation applies only to the dodgers themselves, who are trying to avoid conscription for military or alternative civilian service. At the same time, no responsibility is provided for those who assist them.

At the same time, illegal services to assist in draft evasion are increasingly being offered in the country. The initiative provides for punishment for assistance in evading service for individuals and officials.

Earlier it was reported that a draft law on the deprivation of citizenship for evading mobilization for those who received citizenship but avoids fulfilling obligations under the Constitution of the Russian Federation was submitted for consideration by the State Duma.
