Putin congratulated Lukashenka on his birthday

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on his birthday. Telegram published on the Kremlin website.
“I wish you, dear Alexander Grigoryevich, good health, happiness, well-being and success in your state activities,” the congratulatory letter says.
Putin noted Lukashenka’s “tireless work” for the benefit of the Belarusian people and his consistent policy of developing friendly relations between Russia and the republic. The Russian president said that he “sincerely cherishes mutual understanding” with the leader of Belarus, and expressed confidence that together the countries would be able to overcome any difficulties.
Later, the Kremlin reported that between Putin and Lukashenka took place telephone conversation, during which the leaders of the states confirmed their intention to strengthen Russian-Belarusian relations and strategic partnership.
On August 30, Lukashenka turned 69 years old. The President of Belarus was born in 1954 in the village of Kopys, Vitebsk region. In fact, he has been the head of the republic since 1994. In 2020, he became the president of Belarus for the sixth consecutive term.
