State Duma accepted in the second and third readings, a law obliging all educational institutions to display the Russian flag. Previously, only schools had to do this. Now the flag will have to hang permanently in kindergartens, colleges, technical schools and universities. The law will come into force on September 1.

The authors of the initiative were several deputies led by the chairman of the State Duma Committee on Education Olga Kazakova. The explanatory note stated that the use of the state flag in the educational process “is an important element in the formation of spiritual and moral values ​​at all levels of education – from kindergarten to university.” One of the co-authors of the initiative, deputy Sergei Kolunov, called the main purpose of the bill “the development of patriotic feelings, love for the Motherland among young people.”

Only in the Kama region for the purchase of state symbols for schools allocated 38 million rub. In Bashkiria for flags and coats of arms for schools planned spend up to 91 million rubles, but the purchase blocked local FAS office.
