The State Duma is petitioning for payments to parents of schoolchildren by September 1

In the State Duma, under the auspices of the Committee on Family, Women and Children, the deputies sent a letter to Mikhail Mishustin with a request to pay parents with children from 6 to 18 years old the “First September capital”. We are talking about a one-time allowance, which was first allocated to children in the covid 2019. Then the amount of state aid amounted to ten thousand rubles. Earlier, deputies Nina Ostanina and Boris Chernyshov insisted that the amount of assistance for the “school portfolio” was not lower than the subsistence level in the region.

“Putin’s” 10 thousand Russian parents received three times: in 2019, 2020 and 2021. Last year, “money for children” seemed to be irretrievably abolished. And the pandemic ended, and at the federal-municipal level, “it was possible to build a full line of social assistance to children’s families with low incomes.”

And now the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans Affairs, for example, has not supported the idea of ​​returning money to the school “outside the need criteria”. The head of the committee, Svetlana Bessarab, made a similar argument a year ago. In general, the system of social payments is against the September 1st money, the changed economic situation and pre-election activity are “for”.

There is no doubt that school supplies have risen in price. The other day, experts from large retailers estimated the minimum cost of a school set: it cost 8.5 thousand rubles. The “portfolio” includes a school and sports uniform in one copy, a shift (with a bag) and shoes for physical education, a pencil case, stationery and a set of notebooks with covers. Last year, a similar “gentleman’s set” was estimated at 5,500 rubles, in 2021 – at 5,000 rubles.

However, the same experts emphasize that this set price is theoretically minimal. After all, no one buys children only one set of clothes for school, for example, one shirt and one trousers. The same T-shirts and shorts for physical education. Therefore, according to more balanced estimates, the “dowry” to the school for girls is 26,800 rubles, and for a boy 22,300 rubles. In 2021, according to the Accounts Chamber, school fees for a boy amounted to 19,335.38 rubles, for girls – 23,844.76 rubles. Stationery, especially paper, then went up in price right before the school year due to the imposition of sanctions.

– Yes, 25 thousand for fees is closer to the truth, – says Alexandra Borodnikova, mother of two middle and high school students from Moscow. – Especially the clothes “took off”. So I exhaled when the eldest moved to a school with an aesthetic bias. There is no form, go in whatever you want. Any teenager now has a bunch of hoodies, jeans, sweatpants. And it’s all cotton. And uniform suits, if they are cheap, there is only one polyester. At best, 50/50 with viscose or wool.

Finding an inexpensive model with normal fabric, where nature is at least 70%, is a great success. And, frankly, boys are boys. Climbed somewhere, got dirty – threw a sweatshirt in the wash and forgot, take another. And after washing, you still need to put the uniform in order – steam it, iron it … In Moscow, now many parents “leave” for second-hand. There is no uniform, but there are plenty of casual clothes.

No one knows yet what the school uniform will be – GOST will be approved for it in 2024. Now in most schools with a dress code, not complete uniformity is required, but rather calm tones and pastels, or the same “brand colors”. The “top” is a light shade without a pattern, the “bottom” is gray, blue or black.

The girls’ parents say that the blouse and sundress option for school is optimal: the light one gets less dirty and is not cold. Although, even in this case, a jacket or cardigan will also be required in winter, and trousers in severe winters. A good sundress with a more or less natural composition of the fabric “begins” with a mark of 4-5 thousand rubles. A dress is already 6-7 thousand, a blouse is 1.5-2 thousand, trousers and skirts are at least 3-5 thousand. In general, it turns out that the form that was once introduced in schools due to post-war poverty and disorder is now an expensive pleasure.

“I would still advise you to wait until the end of August with purchases for school,” says Angelina Kolomiytsyna, a commodity marketing specialist for a network of children’s stores. – Many people think that it is better to buy in advance, they are used to stocking up. And even advice such I see, from experts. Of course, if a quality thing has already been found that the child liked and is beneficial to the parent, it is worth buying it. But wholesale purchases of stationery, notebooks, covers, drawing kits, workbooks, study guides and other things should be postponed until the last week before September 1. When many stores and marketplaces especially arrange sales sales. Then the school set, sometimes it is called that, becomes cheaper by 50-75%. The same applies to backpacks, uniforms and shoes, their cost on the eve of Knowledge Day often drops significantly. There is no shortage now and stores are interested in selling the leftovers.

Also, the expert advises not to take ready-made kits, where cheap, and even disposable things are always reported to several really high-quality positions. And collect the goods yourself. Another common mistake on the eve of September 1 is purchases in dumping shops or points with fixed prices. There are positions that are overpriced in the hope of a buying rush. Indeed, in the heat of mass buying, people often overpay in “cheap” stores for goods that are much cheaper elsewhere.
