Russians will be fined up to 500 thousand rubles for unauthorized replacement of gas equipment

A bill providing for fines for unauthorized replacement of gas equipment was adopted on Tuesday, April 2, in the second and third readings by the Russian State Duma. It is stated that the fine will amount to up to 500 thousand rubles.

According to the changes, in case of unauthorized replacement of equipment, citizens will pay from five to ten thousand rubles, officials – from 25 to 100 thousand, legal entities – from 200 to 500 thousand rubles.

The document increased fines for violations of the quality of maintenance and repair of in-house and (or) in-house gas equipment. Their amounts are similar to those provided for unauthorized replacement. This punishment, according to the law, is provided for evading the conclusion of an agreement on the maintenance and repair of equipment in an apartment building, if such a document is mandatory.

Fines will also increase for refusing access to a specialist for maintenance and repair of equipment or for stopping the supply of gas.

Liability has also been tightened in the form of fines for violation of requirements for the procedure for performing equipment diagnostics and for emergency cases.

According to the Chairman of the State Duma Committee on State Construction and Legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, this law is relevant and timely.

“Many emergencies related to the use of gas in everyday life occur due to the unsatisfactory technical condition of gas equipment, smoke and ventilation ducts of residential buildings,” the parliamentarian concluded.
