December 6 Governor of the Belgorod Region Vyacheslav Gladkov informed on the formation of territorial defense units in the region. According to him, a large number of residents of the region addressed him with such an initiative from the first days of the special operation in Ukraine. Gladkov explained that those who, for health reasons or because of their age, cannot go to the combat zone in Ukraine can join the battalions.
After the start of the special operation, the Ukrainian military began to regularly shell the border regions of Russia. Since April 11, a high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat has been in effect in the Belgorod region. Earlier it extended until December 21st. In addition, since October 19, by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a medium level of response has been set in the region.
As one of the security measures in the Belgorod region, they also began to build a security line on the border with Ukraine. According to Gladkov, work has been carried out in the region since April to strengthen the borders. December 6, he clarified that the work is on schedule.
