The State Duma allowed the expansion of the borders of the North-Eastern Military District due to the intervention of the West

The authorities of Ukraine must realize that the increased interference of Western countries in its affairs will play a cruel joke on the country, and the border of Russia’s special military operation can be expanded, declared RIA Novosti State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremet.

According to him, Moscow did not seek to escalate the conflict, but the Western countries “persecuted by the United States” crossed the red lines and now pose a threat to Russia’s national interests.

“Now in the United States they are talking about supporting Ukrainian aggression against Crimea and new Russian territories. But the Kyiv regime must realize that the support of Western countries will play a cruel joke on it and Ukraine. The more Western countries interfere in the affairs of Ukraine, the further the border of our special operation will spread in order to create a buffer zone and protect our country from the enemy neighborhood,” Sheremet said.

The current year, according to the parliamentarian, will be decisive for the formation of a new world order and “victorious for Russia.”

Russia’s special operation in Ukraine began on February 24, 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called it the protection of the inhabitants of Donbass, as well as the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, as its goals. During the special operation, Russian troops took full control of the LPR, as well as most of the DPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. Subsequently, these territories became part of Russia, and on October 19 martial law was introduced in the regions.

At the end of December 2022, the head of the Crimean parliament Vladimir Konstantinov declaredthat Odessa, Nikolaev and Kharkov will pass under the control of the Russian Federation by the end of 2023. He also said that the expansion of the NMD to the “Russian cities” of Nikolaev, Odessa, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov would ensure the security of the borders, and also deprive NATO of the opportunity to gain a foothold on the Black Sea coast.

In December, the interim governor of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, announced that Odessa and Chernihiv should come under Russian control. At the same time, he stressed that now the Russian military is focused on taking control of the DPR completely.
