The State Duma adopted a law on the day of accession of four new regions to Russia

The State Duma at the first plenary meeting of the autumn session adopted in the first reading bill about the “Day of Reunification” of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions with Russia. The memorable date will be celebrated in Russia on September 30. The bill has been submitted to the Federation Council for consideration.
Changes are being made to the law “On days of military glory and memorable dates in Russia.” The document was submitted for consideration by President Vladimir Putin on September 12.
The explanatory note to the bill states that the annexation of regions is “based on the historical community of peoples” and is also “the result of the will of millions of people.”
On September 30, 2022, Vladimir Putin signed an agreement on the annexation of four regions to Russia. The document was also signed by the heads of the regions – Denis Pushilin (DPR), Leonid Pasechnik (LPR), Vladimir Saldo (Kherson region) and Evgeniy Balitsky (Zaporozhye region).
