The Duma adopted amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses introducing heavy fines for mistreatment of animals
The State Duma voted for a law introducing fines for legal entities of up to 30,000 rubles for discarded pets and up to 200,000 rubles for animal bites. For citizens, fines are proposed, although smaller, but still very high. The draft adopted by the deputies contains amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
For non-compliance with the requirements for keeping pets, including abandoned pets, the project proposes to fine citizens in the amount of up to 3 thousand rubles, and legal entities – up to 30 thousand rubles.
Cruelty to animals will also cost a lot – for it, citizens can face a fine of up to 15 thousand rubles, and legal entities – up to 100 thousand rubles.
Penalties are also provided for non-compliance with the requirements for the treatment of animals in shelters, as well as the requirements for the use of animals for cultural and entertainment purposes and their maintenance. There are plugs, respectively, from 15 thousand (maximum) for citizens to 30 thousand for “Yuriks”, and from 15 thousand to 100 thousand. However, there are separate rules for private zoos – prices are higher there.
As for bites, as well as other troubles that could be caused by someone’s pets, there is also a maximum of 30 thousand for citizens, and 200 thousand for legal entities.
