The Russian State Duma adopted in the first reading a draft on an experiment on the online sale of prescription drugs. It is proposed to be held in Moscow, Moscow and Bryansk regions. The government expects to increase the availability of medicines for people with limited mobility and help small businesses in this area.

As reported RBC, the deadline for the submission of amendments is set for September 28. The Ministry of Health must approve the list of drugs allowed for online sale.

The exception will be a number of preferential drugs, drugs with narcotic, psychotropic and potent substances, drugs with an ethyl alcohol content of more than 25%, and some others.

If MPs pass the law, online pharmacies will have to verify the identity of the doctor who wrote the prescription and the patient for whom it is intended. Medical institutions and pharmacies may refuse to participate in the experiment.
