The State Commission allowed the launch of Angara-A5, postponed to April 10 due to a failure

The State Commission approved the Angara-A5 rocket for the first launch from the Vostochny Cosmodrome on April 10. The launch was initially planned for April 9, but it was canceled due to a failure.

“The launch of the Angara-A5 launch vehicle with the Orion upper stage and test payload from pad 1A is planned on April 10 at 12:00:00 Moscow time,”— reported “Roscosmos”.

The reason for the cancellation of the launch scheduled for April 9 was the head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov. named failure of the central unit oxidizer tank pressurization system. He assured that specialists will soon understand the final causes of the failure. The launch was canceled two minutes before the start.

Angara-A5 is the first rocket developed and created after the collapse of the USSR. The launch was initially planned for December 2023, but it was postponed to the first quarter of 2024. “Angara-A5” belongs to the family of modular-type launch vehicles (allows you to build on blocks of launch vehicle stages) with oxygen-kerosene engines. This rocket can launch from 3 to 7.5 tons of payload into orbit.
