Scientists conducted a study and discovered unknown species of creatures off the coast of Chile

A group of international scientists has made an amazing journey into the depths of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Chile. From a research vessel Falkor The Schmidt Oceanographic Institute lowered an underwater robot to a depth of more than 1,524 meters in order to study the mysterious depths of the sea in more detail.

The expedition brought impressive results – a huge number of species were discovered that may be of interest to science. Among them were creatures resembling sparkling constellations, crimson crustaceans with long, graceful and spiny legs, as well as numerous bioluminescent organisms that illuminate the depths.

Of particular interest was the variety of marine life, including the deep-sea anglerfish with its melancholy appearance and glowing bait. This possibly new species of fish has attracted attention for its ability to move along the seafloor using modified fins. This is the first scientific observation of this type of fish in the southeastern Pacific Ocean, which opens new perspectives for studying the evolution of deep-sea creatures.

In addition to these amazing discoveries, the expedition also revealed significant gaps in knowledge about marine biology.
