The All-Russian Winter Sports Spartakiad has ended in Magnitogorsk. The St. Petersburg team took second place in the competition, losing to Moscow.
The team of the Northern capital has 16 gold medals, 8 silver and 15 bronze. Muscovites have 18, 19 and 14 medals, respectively. The team from the Moscow region is in third place.
The competition lasted from February 8 to 18 in such disciplines as mountaineering, biathlon, bobsleigh, curling, figure skating, alpine skiing, women’s hockey, speed skating, skeleton, snowboarding and others.
As MK in St. Petersburg reported, today the St. Petersburg team won two gold medals in women’s and mixed doubles curling competitions. Also, St. Petersburg skaters became the best in pair skating – world champions Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov took gold. Figure skater Anna Frolova became silver medalist in women’s singles skating.
