Director General of the Amur Tiger Center Sergey Aramilev shared information about 30-40 Amur tigers that live simultaneously in Russia and China. This is reported by RIA Novosti, referring to Aramilev’s speech at the Eastern Economic Forum.

Aramilev noted that cooperation is underway with China on data exchange, especially as part of work in the Land of the Leopard specially protected natural area, whose borders adjoin China. He also noted the increase in the efficiency of Chinese colleagues in responding to possible violations of the habitat conditions of Amur tigers compared to 2018. The specialist shared information about cooperation with China in the restoration of natural habitats for these animals.

“We are actively exchanging technologies, including models of automatic cameras and the use of collars to track animals,” he said.
