The son of a woman who died due to the fault of a gynecologist avenged her mother’s death with his fists

The court sent a gynecologist from the Moscow region to a colony for 3 years, with the “light” hand of which the patient fell into a coma, and then died. After the tragedy, the 8-year-old son of the deceased attacked the son of the culprit of family grief.

As it became known to MK, in 2020, a 39-year-old resident of the city of Zheleznodorozhny near Moscow, Irina (all names have been changed), who raised three children, needed medical assistance in connection with a delicate problem. She was recommended a doctor from a local maternity hospital, who also turned out to be a neighbor on the porch. For two years, Irina was unofficially observed by a gynecologist, paying for all procedures. On June 5, 2021, the woman arrived for another manipulation, which, according to the doctor, was necessary. Once again trusting the doctor, Irina lay down on the operating table. The gynecologist injected the patient with lidocaine, but, as it turned out, she exceeded the dose several times, and Irina fell into a coma. Doctors fought for her life for a long time, but on January 10, 2022, the woman died.

A criminal case was initiated against the doctor under Article 238 (“Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, resulting in the death of the patient”). The death of the mother hit the woman’s children hard. In October 2022, Irina’s 8-year-old son decided to avenge his mother’s death and attacked the doctor’s son with a gas canister. Fortunately, there were no casualties. Inspectors for juvenile affairs held several preventive conversations with the boy. However, misfortunes also befell the family of the gynecologist. The woman raised her son alone, but did not pay due attention to him, in connection with which the father of the child tried to deprive her of parental rights. By the way, according to some reports, the gynecologist was engaged in medical activities even after the death of the patient.

According to Olga Vradiy, senior assistant to the head of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee for the Moscow Region, the former doctor was sentenced to 3 years in a general regime colony with deprivation of the right to engage in medical activities for a period of 2 years.

“I don’t know how much it is – 3 years in prison. But the fact that she was forbidden to heal is already good, ”said the heartbroken husband of the deceased.
