The Smolensk team plays in Luzhniki at the opening of the School Football League

The first all-Russian School Football League tournament is taking place these days in Moscow. The team from the Smolensk region was among 96 teams from 65 regions of the country that will play on six fields of the Luzhniki sports complex from September 20 to 24.
More than 1.2 thousand boys and girls came to the tournament. They will play in three age groups: 10-11 years old, 12-13 years old and 14-15 years old.
As part of a major football tournament, the RFU organizes excursions around the city for the children, meetings with the legends of the Russian national team and Media League football players. Each participant will receive a unique medal and a souvenir.
The structure of the School Football League includes intra-school and municipal stages, as well as regional finals. The top of the football competition pyramid will be the All-Russian final for the winners of the ShFL regions. At the moment, there are football leagues for schoolchildren in 12 regions of Russia. In the Smolensk region, 30 schools joined the project.
The “Football at School” project has been implemented since 2021. In the new academic year, the number of participants should exceed 1 million schoolchildren from 4,150 schools in 83 regions.
