Slovak Hockey Federation: we do not plan to hold preliminary games with the Russian national team
The Slovak Hockey Federation said it is not interested in holding friendly matches with the Russian national team before the 2024 World Cup. The organization informed about this on its website.
Earlier, information appeared on the Internet that Slovakia wants to play one or a couple of games with Russia before the World Hockey Championship.
According to the federation, there were no plans for any preliminary matches with the Russian national team. The organization also stated that the information previously provided about this was false.
“We strongly reject such speculation, which unnecessarily further divides a polarized society,” the statement said.
The text also says that the Slovak national team has already agreed on all its opponents since September 2023.
