The tragedy again occurred due to the negligence of adults

This year marks the 5th anniversary of the tragedy in the Kemerovo “Winter Cherry”. The fire killed six fifth-graders from the village of Treshchevsky.

Last year, a 9-year-old girl, who turned out to be the sister of one of the victims, died in the same village. Another tragedy occurred due to the negligence of adults.

A local resident spoke about the death of a child and described the situation in Treshchevsky.

5 years ago, seven children went on an excursion to the Kemerovo shopping center from the village of Treshchevsky – six girls and one boy. Among them were Tanya Kurchevskaya and her sixth-grader brother Andrei, the only survivor. One of the parents managed to push the boy out of the mall window.

Four years later, a tragedy struck the Kurchevsky family again. On August 30, 2022, the 9-year-old sister of the deceased Tanya was fatally injured on the playground.

– Everything happened near the house of culture, where, through negligence, they left the old “hand-walker”. The children’s metal structure was previously concreted. And then our administration decided to install a stage in its place. They pulled out the hand walker, put it next to it, but didn’t fix it, they didn’t hang out the protective tapes, – says a local resident. – In the end, he collapsed on the girl. The SC opened a criminal case on negligence. Mothers helped find a lawyer. But how the trial ended, no one knows. Maybe nothing … In any case, nothing more was said in the village. The mother of the deceased child was in shock for a long time. After all, first she lost one daughter, then two years later her husband died. And now she has lost her second child.

– The Kurchevskys are relatives of the ex-governor of the Kemerovo region Aman Tuleyev. How did he react to the tragedy?

– How close they are to the ex-governor’s family, I don’t know. But we never saw Tuleev himself in Treshchevsky. He hardly helped. In any case, the mother of the deceased herself was looking for a lawyer.

– What has changed in the village in five years?

– Nothing much has changed. Unless the school was repaired, as well as a piece of the road on the same street. To completely make the road, probably, there was not enough funding. Last year they decided to put the Palace of Culture in order, but then they abandoned it. Recently, a feldsher-obstetric station was organized. Finally, we have a doctor. There are problems with water, not everyone has it. Well, we ask you to cut down the poplars, which fall from the wind. But so far, no one is engaged in trees. And so like everything is fine, we live somehow.

– Families whose children died left the village?

Only one family left. The rest have nowhere to go and nothing to do. The teacher, who was with the children at the Winter Cherry, was hounded by the locals for a long time. The woman thought about quitting school. But then again, where to go and for what money? In the end, she stayed and works at the school. The former director of the school, who was fired after the tragedy, also remained in our area. But he was removed from educational activities.
