IEA RAS study: 100% of respondents in Crimea speak Russian

According to a study by the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology, all residents of Crimea speak Russian, and about half of them speak Ukrainian. This was announced by the director of the IEA RAS, Alexey Zagrebin, at a round table on the topic “Geopolitical and civilizational significance of Crimea and adjacent lands in the history of Russia” in the Federation Council.

According to him, 100% of respondents speak Russian, of which half speak Ukrainian. He also noted that over 90% of Crimean Tatars and 16% of representatives of other ethnic groups speak the Crimean Tatar language.

Zagrebin added that 80% of respondents support the existence of three state languages ​​in Crimea: Russian, Ukrainian and Crimean Atar.

The respondents also answered the question “Who do you feel like?” The majority of respondents indicated that they are citizens of Russia and residents of Crimea. Over 80% of respondents do not want to leave the peninsula.
