Yeltsin Center security guard Alexander Vasiliev, who painted eyes on a painting by Kazimir Malevich’s student Anna Leporskaya, apologized to the Tretyakov Gallery for his act. As an apology, he sent five thousand rubles to the Leporskaya fund.
“He sent a letter to the Tretyakov Gallery, however, from my email and sent 5 thousand rubles to their fund,” said the security guard’s lawyer Alexei Bushmakov.
The human rights activist has already submitted to the judge an extract from the man’s deposit, which contains 40,000 rubles. This indicates that the defendant has the opportunity to pay a fine, in connection with this, the criminal prosecution can be terminated.
Recall that on December 7, a 63-year-old security guard of the Yeltsin Center drew eyes with a ballpoint pen on the faces depicted in Anna Leporskaya’s painting “Three Figures” from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery during an exhibition at the Center.
