The scientist told what to do with alcohol poisoning

Alcohol poisoning can be recognized in a timely manner and action taken, said Vadim Negrebetsky, director of the Institute of Pharmacy and Medicinal Chemistry at the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University.

He noted that if technological processes are followed, even an alcoholic drink cannot be dangerous to health. However, in the presence of violations, as well as in the case of the addition of methyl alcohol, everything can end fatally even with a small dose.

According to the scientist, the symptoms of poisoning are vomiting, loss of consciousness, problems with breathing and vision, as well as circulatory disorders.

He stated that if such symptoms are detected, an urgent need to consult a doctor, and for the period of waiting for an ambulance, lay the person on his side to prevent choking with vomit.

Earlier it was reported that the number of people affected by the use of surrogate alcohol-containing cider increased to 101. The number of deaths has not changed – 31. Four poisoned are in critical condition. On the fact of poisoning people with surrogate alcohol, a criminal case was initiated. An individual entrepreneur from the Samara region, who supplied poisonous cider to retail outlets, was arrested. The drink is being withdrawn from sale. According to Rospotrebnadzor, on the evening of June 8, 71.4 thousand liters of the alcoholic drink “Mr. Cider” were seized in 17 Russian regions.
