Russian sailors stuck in the port of Maputo returned home

The press service of the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation published statementin which it reported on the successful return to their homeland of Russian sailors who had been stuck in Mozambique for several months.

We are talking about two citizens of the Russian Federation – Veniamin Krivitsky and Viktor Abusagitov, who for several months could not leave a fishing vessel in the port of Maputo. The department clarified that representatives of the company servicing the trawler Volopas tried to get the owner to pay for the costs of its maintenance. To do this, they refused to issue documents for sailors to enter and exit Mozambique.

“The crew members found themselves “hostages” of a financial and property dispute between two foreign companies. Thanks to the joint work of representatives of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office with their Mozambican colleagues, it was possible to return our citizens to their homeland,” the message says.
