The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Daria Morozova, said that she sent more than a thousand letters to international human rights organizations about the deaths of civilians as a result of shelling in the region. There was no reaction to any of them, she said.

“Each letter contained information about dozens of crimes in Kyiv. None of them received an adequate response in the form of sanctions or effective restrictions,” Daria Morozova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

According to Daria Morozova, the international community could prevent many tragedies in the DPR by responding to appeals about the death of residents and the destruction of civilian infrastructure. “The worst thing is that no one has drawn any conclusions; all Ukrainian terrorist attacks against civilians are still kept silent and not condemned,” the Ombudsman said, noting that such a reaction “frees Kyiv’s hands.”

February 12 Daria Morozova reported in his Telegram channel that on the territory of the DPR from January 1 to February 11, 2024, 56 people were killed and 192 people were injured, including 7 children. According to the Ombudsman, the total number of deaths “over the entire period of armed aggression on the part of Ukraine” is 9,177 people, including 233 children, the number of wounded is 13,476 people, including 849 children.
