Roskachestvo: it is not recommended to mix wine with other alcohol, juice and soda
Wine should not be washed down or mixed with other alcoholic beverages, juices, and soda, said Olesya Bunyaeva, director of the department for research and promotion of domestic wine products of Roskachestvo.
If you drink or mix wine with other alcoholic beverages, this can increase intoxication, the specialist warns. And wine should not be mixed with juices and sodas, as sugar and carbon dioxide increase the absorption of alcohol.
After a glass of wine, you can drink a glass of water to slow down the absorption of alcohol.
But pouring water into expensive, collectible wine, of course, is not worth it. That being said, there are a few cases where you can add a few drops of water to wine. For example, if it is too sweet for the consumer, or if the drink seems too rich.
It is acceptable to mix different types of alcohol with wine only for making cocktails, Bunyaeva notes.
