Rospotrebnadzor: Tinder season has been replaced by tick season
Rospotrebnadzor warned residents of Russia about the coming “season of ticks”, urging them to be vigilant and take care of their health. The department designed the newsletter by beating the news agenda.
“Tinder season is ending and tick season is in full swing!” – reads the title of the ad. Illustrates his image of insects in the form of users of the popular online dating service, which recently announced its withdrawal from Russia.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists recalled that ticks are found almost throughout the country, their population numbers about 50 species – ripicephalus, dermacentor, chialomma, hemophysalis, taiga tick and many others. Thus, seven species are registered in the Asian territory, 14 species in the North Caucasus Federal District, as well as in the Southern Federal District. Eight species are found in the Crimea, eight species each in Central Russia and the northwest.
Ticks can carry dangerous infectious diseases, in areas where ticks live, foci of tick-borne incephalitis, Crimean hemorrhagic and Astrakhan rickettsial fever, Siberian tick-borne typhus, and tularemia can occur.
“As well as ixodid tick-borne borreliosis, rickettsiosis, babesiosis, anaplasmosis, ehrlichiosis …” – experts warn.
The department stressed that “caution must always be observed, since sometimes one suction is enough for infection.”
