RBC, with reference to the Federal Customs Service, reported that since the beginning of the year, the customs authorities of the Russian Federation began to record a multiple increase in the volume of exports of gold bars from Russia.
The Federal Customs Service noted that one of the most striking examples was the case of the export of gold with a total weight of more than 200 kilograms by one shuttle. The man who tried to export the gold could not explain the origin of the bullion, as well as the purpose of their export.
Representatives of the Federal Customs Service stated that they consider such cases to be suspicious and added that the illegal circulation of gold must be suppressed, since it is a strategically important product.
