Retailers have recorded a significant increase in demand for video projectors. In the M.video-Eldorado network, unit sales of video projectors for home theaters increased 5-fold year-on-year for the first eight months of 2023, a company representative said. Wildberries and Citylink have similar sales dynamics. At Ozon from January to August 2023, the growth in unit sales of projectors year-on-year was 330%, at Megamarket – 336%. None of the retailers disclosed absolute numbers.

In total, 64,700 projectors were purchased on the Russian market in the first half of 2023, which is 82% more than in the same period last year, according to statistics from the IT holding Fplus. In monetary terms, sales growth was 52% – up to $62.7 million. It is noteworthy that sales significantly exceeded not only the results of the crisis last year, but also 2021, notes Fplus business analyst Arthur Makhlayuk. Most likely, the multiple growth for a number of retailers occurred in certain categories of projectors – cheap ones, which account for about 40% of the Russian market in unit terms, he explains.
