Alexey Aksyonov, Minister of Sports of the Arkhangelsk Region, emphasized that the region annually holds prestigious winter windsurfing competitions. This season, the zonal stages were held in Onega, and the final events – the championship and the national championship – brought together the best athletes in the capital of Pomorie.
Against the backdrop of the fascinating spectacle of colored sails that smoothly moved along the frozen river, the Arkhangelsk yachtsmen showed their skills, leading after the first day of racing. Vadim Volotskoy, President of the Arkhangelsk Region Sailing Federation, expressed admiration for the competition and noted the successful performance of local athletes.
The Russian championship in winter windsurfing is considered the key event for Arkhangelsk yachtsmen in the cold season. The competition between the participants was at a high level, and the Arkhangelsk team won all the prizes in the Russian Championship. Sergey Pivkov, Deputy Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region, emphasized that this indicates healthy competition and the continuation of the winning traditions of young athletes of Pomorie in sailing.
