Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Bespalov has been appointed General Director of the Russian Science Foundation. The corresponding Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin on his appointment was published on the official Internet portal of legal information on April 3.

The former general director, Alexander Khlunov, who served in this position for two terms, starting in 2013, was not reappointed for a third term.

Vladimir Bespalov has a specialty in the field of physics and technology of heterostructures, element base, micro- and nanoelectronics, microsystem technology devices. He was the author and co-author of more than 200 scientific papers. Since 2016, Bespalov has been the rector of the National Research University MIET.
