In St. Petersburg, a pensioner was sent to a pre-trial detention center for attempting to cooperate with Ukrainian intelligence
A St. Petersburg court sent into custody a 67-year-old native of the Republic of Dagestan, who tried to establish confidential contacts with Ukrainian military intelligence. This was reported by the joint press service of the courts of the Northern capital.
By court decision, the pensioner was sent to a pre-trial detention center until March 11. He was accused of violating Part 3 of Art. 30 – Art. 275.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted cooperation on a confidential basis with a foreign state, international or foreign organization).
The investigation found that the Dagestani turned to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine with the intention of telling them information and taking specific actions directed against Russia. FSB officers learned about his plans and were able to stop the illegal actions in time.
