Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Relations between the Church and Society and the Media of the Moscow Patriarchate, Vakhtang Kipshidze, believes that recognizing the “international LGBT social movement” as an extremist organization in Russia is “a form of moral self-defense of society.” According to him, the activities of the LGBT community are directed against the Christian idea of marriage and the religious concept itself.
“Recognizing the LGBT movement as extremist is a form of moral self-defense of society. We know from the testimony of many Western Christians who adhere to traditional beliefs regarding marriage and family that the activities of LGBT movements are aimed at displacing the Christian idea of marriage and family from both the public and legal space,” commented Vakhtang Kipshidze ( quote from RIA Novosti).
Earlier today, November 30, the Supreme Court of Russia admitted “international LGBT social movement” extremist. The appeal for a traffic ban was received by the court from the Ministry of Justice. The meeting was held behind closed doors. There was no defendant in the case; only representatives of the Ministry of Justice were present in the hall. The case was marked “secret”.
