Together with colleagues from the regional Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, military personnel and employees ensured the safety of numerous skiers of all ages – from three to 75 years old – and spectators.
The traditional venue for the annual competition was the ski base of the Trud sports school in the city of Naryan-Mar. National Guard member Alexey Sumarokov, who was born and raised in Naryan-Mar, but became interested in winter sports precisely thanks to the Ski Track of Russia, also took part in the starts at distances of 5 and 10 kilometers. This time, the officer earned a silver medal, showing an excellent result in the five-kilometer race among men aged 18-39 years, reports the press service of the Office of the National Guard for the Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
Thanks to the coordinated actions of law enforcement agencies, the security measures taken and the law-abiding behavior of citizens, the 42nd All-Russian mass race “Ski Track of Russia” in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug ended without incident and in the atmosphere of a sports festival for children and adults.
