The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put Ukrainian Major General Viktor Nikolyuk and Lieutenant General Mikhail Drapaty on the wanted list, as follows from the criminal investigation cards.

The basis for the criminal investigation is an article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Which one exactly is not specified.

In the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia reportedthat Nikolyuk and Drapaty have already been charged in absentia. According to the department, in 2017 and 2019. they “exercised overall command of the operation of the joint forces of Ukraine.” It is clarified that under their leadership, settlements of the DPR and LPR came under 70 shellings, as a result of which 154 people were killed and injured.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Nikolyuk and Drapaty were already wanted. In particular, in November 2016 SK presented in absentia charges against four Ukrainian soldiers involved in shelling of civilians in the Donbass, among whom was Nikolyuk. In the same month SK excited another criminal case about crimes committed by the security forces of Ukraine, one of the defendants in this case was Drapaty.

Nikolyuk is 47 years old, Drapaty is 40. Currently, Nikolyuk is the commander of the training of the Ukrainian Ground Forces; until March 2023, he headed the operational command “North”. Drapaty was the commander of the operational group of troops “Kherson”.
