Moscow and Tehran are preparing to sign an extensive interstate agreement. The Ministry of Defense announced this after telephone conversations between its head Sergei Shoigu and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Ashtiani.
The parties emphasized their commitment to the fundamental principles of Russian-Iranian relations, including respect for each other’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, which will be reflected in the upcoming agreement.
Shoigu emphasized that Moscow and Tehran are working together to form an equal multipolar world. In addition, the parties discussed current issues of military-technical cooperation, and also exchanged views on regional security.
