The Russian military repulsed a new attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Yuzhno-Donetsk direction

The Russian military successfully repelled a new attack by the armed forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Yuzhno-Donets direction. This attack was carried out by the Kyiv regime after the regrouping of forces. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the enemy continued the offensive throughout June 5, concentrating its main efforts on the Vremevsky ledge of the Yuzhnodonets direction, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine had already suffered significant losses.

According to the department, the Kiev regime reorganized the remnants of the 23rd and 31st mechanized brigades into separate consolidated units, which continued the offensive in the areas of the settlements of Novodarovka and Levadnoe. In addition, a new brigade was involved in this area.

At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched an offensive in the direction of the Oktyabrsky state farm and Novodonetsk with the forces of the 37th Marine Brigade, which was reinforced by units of the 68th Mountain Jaeger Brigade. However, the Russian military inflicted a comprehensive fire defeat on the enemy with the help of army, assault and operational-tactical aviation forces, missile troops, artillery and heavy flamethrower systems.

The Ministry of Defense emphasized that thanks to the active and selfless actions of the units of the Vostok grouping of troops, which showed courage and heroism, the enemy was stopped, and his tasks were not achieved. According to agency estimates, more than 1,500 Ukrainian servicemen, 28 tanks (including eight German Leopards and three wheeled French AMX-10RC tanks) and 109 armored fighting vehicles were destroyed as a result of the fighting.
