Berlin police officer to be checked over posts about eco-activists and Ukraine

The structure of the German Federal Criminal Police, responsible for politically motivated crimes, is conducting a check against a Berlin police officer because of his publications on social networks, writes Die Welt newspaper.
Last year, this employee criticized the environmental activists of the Last Generation movement on social networks, urging them to “collect them and take them to the forest near Stalingrad.” He also criticized support for Ukraine and Germany’s migration policy.
The man previously worked as a security guard in the property protection department of the police, and then as a clerk in the general council of the police headquarters. Based on the results of the audit, a decision will be made to initiate a criminal case on inciting hatred, the newspaper notes.
