A resident of Krasnoyarsk is suspected of melting natural gold into bars without having a license for operations with precious metals, the press service of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation reported.
The suspect, according to investigators, purchased gold from unidentified persons in January-February 2023, and transferred the resulting alloys to a local plant for purification from impurities. FSB officers became aware of the fraud.
3.6 kilograms of gold worth 15 million rubles were seized from a Krasnoyarsk resident.
