A resident of the Irkutsk region voluntarily spent three days in an enclosure with a wolf named Seryoga – cohabitation with a predator took place as part of an experiment tripled by a rehabilitation center for wild animals. The subject Andrey Abramov was instructed to study how the wolf reacts to temperature changes, how much it eats, how it protects the territory, when it howls and how it relates to other inhabitants of the animal world.
How the site writes KP.RU, Abramov was equipped with warm clothes, a thermos with tea, a telephone and an observation log, and the wolf’s booth was insulated with needles and hay. According to the man, the wolf on the very first night gave him the most convenient place, he himself spent the night closer to the exit. However, Seryoga’s hospitality was not enough for a comfortable coexistence.
“I suffered from the fact that it was impossible to straighten my legs <...> And Seryoga snored terribly!” Abramov shared.
He also admitted that from a lack of communication, he began to talk with the wolf and even discuss living together.
Now the zoo staff will have to process the information obtained during the experiment and formulate conclusions in order to use the information in further work.
Wolf Seryoga appeared at the zoo six years ago when his mother was killed by poachers. All these years, Abramov took care of him, so the predator got used to him and now even allows him to scratch himself behind his ear and walk on a leash along the shore of Lake Baikal. However, according to Abramov, Seryoga was still surprised when he settled into his enclosure.
