The Russian Karate Championship started on December 1 at the Vostok training center. More than 700 athletes from 51 regions of the country are taking part in the tournament, the press service of the regional Ministry of Sports reported.
On the first day of the competition, karatekas competed in the disciplines “kata”, “kumite” and “team kata”.
Among girls 14-15 years old in the kata discipline, Angelina Nemchenko from the Moscow region won silver, Angelina Tarasova from the Saratov region won silver, Elizaveta Panteleeva from the Moscow region and Alesya Salama from Moscow won bronze medals.
Among the young men, Elshan Bakirov from the Tver region was the strongest, Nikita Zhirnov from the Moscow region was in second place, Roman Kravtsov from the Kaliningrad region and Timur Kobelyakov from Moscow were in third place.
The Moscow region team, consisting of Dilyara Sadreeva, Elena Novichikhina and Varvara Terentyeva, celebrated victory in the kata group discipline among juniors 14-17. Among boys, the leaders of the tournament in this age group were also representatives of the Moscow region: Nikolay Savvin, Nikita Zhirkov and Arseny Digulyar.
In the kumite discipline among girls 14-15 years old in their weight categories, gold was taken by Arnella Gubashieva from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (47 kg), Saglara Ochirova from the Republic of Kalmykia (54 kg), Alina Petrenko from the Stavropol Territory (61 kg) and Valeria Milovanova from the Oryol region (61+ kg).
Among the boys, Alim Tekuev from the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (52 kg), Maxim Golenkov from the Krasnodar Territory (57 kg), Akhmed Abdulmuslimov from the Republic of Dagestan (63 kg), Vyacheslav Pozdnyshev from the Moscow Region (70 kg) and Igor Gainutdinov from the Chelyabinsk region (70+ kg).
The second day of the competition started on December 2 at 09:00. The official opening ceremony of the Russian Karate Championship will take place at 12:00.
Previously “MK on Sakhalin” wrote, that the championship and championship of the Sakhalin region in Kyokushin were held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. 164 karatekas from Okha, Tymovsky, Tomarinsky, Kholmsky, Korsakovsky districts, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Vladivostok took part in the competition.
