In Kaliningrad, a man hid from bailiffs in a refrigerator to avoid trial. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the Federal Bailiff Service, as quoted by Lenta.ru.

The accused of theft avoided appearing in court for a long time, after which bailiffs arrived at his place of residence. The defendant’s mother opened the door for the officials. She told them that her son was not at home.

In the kitchen, the bailiffs noticed that the refrigerator was unplugged and there were internal shelves lying around it. Looking inside, the uninvited guests discovered the defendant. The hide-and-seek enthusiast decided to resist, but the man’s actions were stopped, after which he was taken to court.

A report was drawn up against the man under Article 17.8 (“Obstruction of the lawful activities of an official of an authority…”) of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation.
