The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the Ambassador of Belgium

On Tuesday, June 6, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Belgian Ambassador to Moscow, Mark Michilsen, in connection with the fact that the sabotage groups that carried out terrorist attacks on the territory of the Belgorod region on May 22 used Belgian weapons.
As the Foreign Ministry recalled, Moscow has repeatedly warned about the danger of pumping the Ukrainian army with Western weapons and equipment, as well as their uncontrolled spread and falling into the hands of terrorist groups.
The Russian Foreign Ministry urged the Belgian authorities not to turn a blind eye to the growing evidence of support by the Kyiv regime of terrorists, whose target is the civilian population and civilian infrastructure in the Russian Federation.
Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre de Croo previously instructed the Belgian intelligence and military departments to study the situation. with the use of Belgian weapons by Ukraine during the attack on the Belgorod region, and also demanded an explanation from the Ukrainian authorities. The politician stressed that clear rules for the use of the transferred weapons were discussed with Kiev – they are intended only for defense on Ukrainian territory.
However, the head of the Russian State Duma Committee on International Affairs, Leonid Slutsky, expressed the opinion that Belgium’s demand for explanations from Ukraine regarding the use of Belgian-made weapons in the Belgorod region is just an attempt by a European country dissociate themselves from their involvement in the Ukrainian conflict.
