The Russian Football Union (RFU) proposed expanding the betting mechanism to all sports. Roman Sinanin, head of the strategy and development programs department of the RFU, believes that in this way it will be possible to increase targeted contributions to sports and increase the effectiveness of the fight against illegal types of gambling. Currently you can only bet on horse races in the betting shop.
Mr. Sinanin made a corresponding proposal during the forum “Gambling: contributions to sports,” they report “Vedomosti”. His initiative was supported by representatives of bookmakers League of Bet, BetBoom and Pari.
BetBoom President Konstantin Makarov noted that after bookmakers were granted the right to accept bets only on sporting events in 2020, and sweepstakes on horse racing and racing, the legal gambling industry stopped working. At the same time, as the president of the Betting League, Yuri Krasovsky, pointed out, there is no culture of betting on horses in Russia, therefore the turnover of betting shops is minimal.
According to the law on the organization of gambling, bets at the bookmaker’s office are accepted for various sporting events. A certain coefficient is set for each outcome. Winnings are calculated by multiplying the bet amount by the event odds. In the end, either the client or the office can win.
In the betting pool you can only bet on horse racing. Players compete with each other, forming a money pool based on the outcome of one event. At the same time, the organizer of the betting, unlike the bookmaker, is not a party to the bet.
Bookmakers make mandatory targeted contributions to sports (currently they pay contributions of 1.5%), and betting houses make voluntary contributions, which go towards the development of the equestrian industry in Russia.
